Churches Together in Maldon share our social enterprises so that more good can come from them. From the Food Pantry and Tool box, to Lunchtime Concerts and Harbour Meeting Point, you’ll find members of the HeyMaldon Churches involved alongside other volunteers from local Christian denominations because together we can have greater impact and push back the darkness of loneliness, hunger and despair.
We also work together to teach bible stories in schools through ‘Open the Book’ and bring open air worship to the town at Christmas and Easter.
As a church with members who have various additional needs, we love the work of Maldon Pioneers and are so glad that they meet in at All Saints, in the D’Arcy Chapel, every Monday morning in term time, providing social activities & friendship opportunties for adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities. Alongside the Pioneers team, our volunteers ensure a warm welcome, friendship, and that all important cuppa.
The villages of Langford and Heybridge Basin support their local churches with the maintenance of our historic buildings and churchyards, and with village events. If you would like to know more about becoming a friend of a village church, get in touch.
Lauriston Farm is a local biodynamic social farming business and a charitable, community owned farm, which works alongside people with a learning disability to grow biodynamic organic vegetables, raise rare breed cattle and sheep, look after the chickens and make in the craft room. Their wonderful produce can be bought in our churchyard on Thursday mornings.
The HeyMaldon churches belong to The Church of England and are part of the Bradwell Area in the Diocese of Chelmsford. We proudly cherish the Chapel of St Peter’s by the Wall (aka ‘Bradwell Chapel’) which was consecrated for worship in 654 AD and work with other churches in the Maldon & Dengie Deanery as we ‘travel well together’ in diversity and unity.
