A Brief History (coming soon) →

Serving the new and creative communities in Heybridge, as well as lifelong locals, the charm of St Andrew’s is our diversity, our simplicity and our hunger to see God at work.

We offer a digital detox, traditional and contemporary music, biblical Christian teaching and an ancient, Grade 1 listed setting.

The congregation at St Andrew’s is a small, committed and faithful bunch of believers, who are loving seeing new people begin to find their spiritual home with us.

It’s a place for young and old who want to try out the Christian faith and for those whose spiritual roots are deep in Jesus but who want to help revitalise a church where God is answering prayer and encouraging us into a new season of expectancy, generosity and action.

As well as supporting our neighbours through baptisms, weddings and funerals, we’ve begun a new midweek group, Creative Souls, to connect with our community and increase well-being. We’re throwing parties, developing our buildings and working with local schools - so this is an exciting time to jump on board.

Worship at St Andrew’s

Join us at our service on Sunday.

Sundays, 11.00am

Everyone has had their knocks and challenges, but gathering in this beautiful Grade 1 listed space, prayed in over the centuries, brings a freedom and a strong sense of grace. This is a place of ‘come as you are but don’t leave as you were’.

We have a soft start at 11am (as the service leader is usually coming from another church) so come and make local friends here.

Noisy children and quiet dogs are always welcome. If you are planning to bring children, do let us know in advance, if you can, so that we can ensure we plan things to make them feel involved and interested. We have toys and books available, but we want to help them engage with the service because faith is ‘caught’ more than ‘taught’.

Everything is explained as we go along, so whether it is your first time or umpteenth, you'll find it easy to come and find peace in Jesus' presence.

On the third Sundays of the month we often switch to a more relaxed, interactive service. It allows us more time for to relate our faith to our own lives and to inspire one another. After all, there’s often a lot of wisdom in the room…

The Waring Room

The Waring Room, our flexible space across the road with a hall, a cosier break out room, a kitchen and parking, is home to Creative Souls and is also a rehearsal space for local musicians and occasional events.

However it needs a new lease of life so we’re asking: How else would you use it?
