A LOT CAN HAPPEN IN SEVEN DAYS
Holy Week & Easter
All the info for Holy Week & Easter
You are invited to walk as a follower of Jesus on the sacred journey of Holy Week through to Easter. It’s stirring, it’s solemn, it’s strengthening and, by Easter morning, it’s absolutely joyful!
NEW this year is a prayer walk at Heybridge Basin and we’re also reviving an ancient tradition here of worshiping at SUNRISE with a simple vigil around a campfire as the sun rises across the water on Easter Sunday morning. Hosted by St Georges, we’ll grab breakfast together after that, so check out where the BACON BUTTIES & HOT CROSS BUNS will be served afterwards (location tbc). All Ages welcome so why not share this powerful moment as hope dawns together with others from the The HeyMaldon Famly of Churches, before worshiping at your own church later in the morning - or make this your moment to let the joy of Easter flood your soul.
Spring Cleaning is the practical pilgrim’s way of worshiping too! Check your local church for details of when it’s happening in Holy Week. In a season of self-denial, service and prayer, it’s amazing how God can speak as we polish and purify.
The Christian churches in Maldon are UNITED in following Jesus as our core practice, so on Good Friday we unite to hear the passion story and then walk together behind a lifesize wooden cross and offer an open air service outside All Saints with refreshments. Bring your children in afterwards for themed craft activities and hot cross buns.
St Giles and St Andrews will be on top musical form for Easter and the All Saints choir is currently welcoming new members. Children (and polite dogs) are welcome at all our services and we do allow adults to join in the EGG ROLLING down the hill as long as they remember to bowl ‘underarm’!

The Last Hour Service, in which we seek the stillness to focus on the deep power of Christ’s crucifixion, takes place at 2pm at All Saints.

The Good Friday Meditations will use poetry, silence, music and prayer to allow us to dwell on the crucifixion of Christ and all it means, from the perspective of those who were there.
If you know what it is to suffer, find solace and strength with the God who knows too.

Join us to polish the brass or attack the cobwebs (so satisfying!) from 10am-noon at St Andrews. Hot drinks and good company also available.
